Armor, Armor Class, and Weapons
| Armor class calculation, weapon to-hit adjustment, and the underlying combat resolution mechanics are substantially replaced in Oath-Bound by the Combat Overlay and its associated exhibits. The vanilla DMG tables are regenerated in d100 terms, retaining the original reference and table numbers for navigation. This page records the status of each vanilla section and points to the replacement material. |
Types Of Armor & Encumbrance (p.27)
| The vanilla armor type list reflects a generic fantasy assumption about what is available and culturally appropriate. In Oath-Bound, availability varies by region, culture, and period. Not all armor types will be present in every campaign context — plate armor in a Skeldic frontier settlement is a different proposition from plate armor in a New Velasian city garrison. |
GMs retain discretion to restrict armor availability on setting-coherent grounds. The encumbrance rules apply as written.
