Character Abilities
Explanation of Abilities (p.15)
| The vanilla DMG applies racial ability score adjustments — bonuses and penalties to specific abilities based on the character’s race. These do not apply in Oath-Bound. Ability scores established in Creating the Player Character stand without racial modification. |
The exceptional Strength percentage bonus — available in vanilla AD&D to fighters with an 18 Strength — does not apply in Oath-Bound. The bonus exists as a privilege of the classic AD&D fighter, which has no equivalent here. Martial Actors are not fighters in the vanilla sense. See Classes Become Actor Categories.
The six ability scores otherwise function as described in the DMG.
